DiPrima Dolci Italian Bakery and Café was opened on June 13, 2002, by Patricia DiPrima as a tribute to her Sicilian heritage and her parents, Josephine and Francisco DiPrima. Since then, it has come to be the definitive Italian bakery in Portland, serving traditional pastries, breads and savory dishes, lunch and dinner daily, and breakfast on Fridays and Saturdays, 7-11 am, Sundays, 8 am-3 pm.
All products, including breads, pastries, pizza and pasta dishes, are prepared and cooked on the premises. The menu offers many regular items and some that vary, depending on the seasonal harvests and annual Italian celebrations.
The restaurant is located in North Portland because it is where Patricia and husband, Robin, relocated from New York in 1993. It most reminds her of the neighborhood where she grew up, Maspeth, Queens, NY.
